After almost 38 years of practice, I will be retiring as of February 28, 2021. This decision comes with mixed feelings as many of you have been part of this “allergy family” for many years. However, it is time, as my “family” in Northern California calls. I do look forward to this next journey.

The easy transition of care will be to transfer records and allergy serums, if appropriate, to my friend and colleague, Joe Shapiro, MD who will remain in the West Hills office as well as continuing in his main office in Studio City. His office may be contacted at 818-769-5998 to inform them of your intent to transfer medical care. You should also let Karen or myself know before the end of February, if this is your intent. Please call 818-887-1556 or email at MJR@westhillsallergy.com with questions and instructions regarding transfer of care.

Names and contact information for allergist with whom I would be comfortable in your transferring care, and who may be more geographically convenient, will be provided below.

For those patients who chose to transfer care outside of West Hills/Dr.Shapiro, please contact this office to arrange pick up of your records. Records will not be mailed.

It will be very important to arrange a transfer of care prior to February 28 to assure a smooth transition of care as well as avoiding interruption of pharmacy calls. As of March, records will be at a remote storage location, and a retrieval fee will be charged. After February, questions and messages should be emailed to MJR@westhillsallergy.com.
